Dhanush, celebrated as one of the finest actors in Indian cinema, has made a notable return to theaters with the film 'Kuberaa', directed by Sekhar Kammula. The movie has garnered positive reviews and is performing exceptionally well at the box office.
As per early estimates, 'Kuberaa' amassed Rs 5.50 crore on its fifth day, bringing its total earnings to Rs 60.90 crore.
In an interview with a media outlet, Sekhar Kammula elaborated on the film's narrative and characters. He described 'Kuberaa' as a tale of contrasts, featuring the wealthiest individual and a destitute beggar. Dhanush portrays the beggar, who is indifferent to material desires, while the affluent character, driven by greed and ambition, seeks to acquire everything. The film explores the repercussions of a seemingly minor incident that intertwines these two disparate lives. The concept originated from a simple idea that resonated with Kammula for years, which he later developed into a full script.
Kammula expressed, 'When I began crafting the beggar's character, Dhanush was the only actor who came to mind. His ability to embody such a nuanced role is unparalleled, and viewers will be astounded by his performance. For the role of the rich man, I envisioned a star, and Nagarjuna's talent for reinvention made him the ideal choice. His character presents the greatest challenge in the film, and audiences will be amazed by his portrayal.'
The cast also includes prominent actors Nagarjuna, Rashmika Mandanna, and Jim Sarbh.
